With Albania 4×4 Off-Road Car Rental Holidays, you get the freedom of independent travel — but you are not left alone. We prepare the vehicle, camping setup, route advice and practical support, so you can enjoy the journey with confidence.

You drive. You explore. You choose your pace. We help you discover Albania.

This adventure is designed for travellers who want more than a normal holiday. For people who enjoy freedom, nature, driving, local food, beautiful views and discovering places away from the usual tourist routes.

7 days in the wilderness

Southern Albania is a true paradise for off-road enthusiasts. The rugged mountainous terrain, rocky roads and breathtaking views make it one of the most exciting places to explore in the Balkans.

Southern Albania is a wild, rugged area that offers real fun for anyone who enjoys off-road and the exploration of undiscovered places. It is the perfect destination for those looking for adventure off the beaten track!

What awaits you on our tours?

Albania – a country of wild nature

Mountains and passes

The southern part of the country is mainly mountainous, especially the Ceraunian Mountains (Llogar), the Labër Mountains and the Nemërçka massif. Gravel and rocky roads lead through high passes overlooking the Ionian Sea.

Wildlife

the routes run through desolate areas where you can meet grazing herds of goats and sheep, and drive through dense forests and olive groves.

Forgotten villages

Off-road routes take you through isolated stone villages such as Qeparo, Vuno and Kudhës, where time has stopped. Here you can meet local people who are happy to serve rakia and tell stories of the region.

Rivers and crossings

Many roads cross mountain rivers and the fords can be demanding, especially after rains. An example is the wild valley of the Vjosa River, one of the last intact rivers in Europe.

Abandoned bunkers

During the trip, you may come across hundreds of concrete bunkers from the time of Enver Hoxha, which are a characteristic feature of the Albanian landscape.

Your car

You'll travel through Albania in a spacious SUV that can tackle all roads with ease.

The car is equipped with a tent on the roof and camping equipment. Everything you need for a carefree journey through Albania!

Overnight stops

During your journey in Albania, you will have the opportunity to spend the night at a campsite, in the countryside or in a hostel. So that you can fully relax after an eventful day.

All cars have electricity and sanitary facilities, and we have already booked a place for you, so you don't have to worry about this on the spot.

How it works?

01. Arrive in Tirana

Collect your 4×4 on Day 1 between 14:00 and 17:00 near Tirana Airport or at our agreed pick-up location. We explain the equipment, provide route information and prepare you for the journey.

02. Start your Albania adventure

Follow the recommended route, explore Albania at your own pace and choose your overnight style: rooftop tent, campsite, guesthouse or hotel. You are free to adjust your plan at any time during the trip.

03. Return on Day 8

Return the vehicle on Day 8 between 08:00 and 10:00 at the agreed location — usually our place or Tirana Airport — unless we arrange otherwise in advance.

Overnight options

During the trip, you can choose different types of overnight stops:

  • Rooftop tent camping
  • Campsites
  • Local guesthouses
  • Small hotels
  • Wild-style overnight stops where suitable and permitted

Many travellers choose a mix: some nights close to nature, some nights in guesthouses and sometimes a comfortable hotel stop along the route. We can recommend suitable places depending on your route, weather and travel pace.

Food and local experience

Albania is a fantastic country for simple, authentic and affordable food. You can cook basic meals with your camping equipment, but we also recommend trying local restaurants, family guesthouses, mountain food, fresh fish near the coast and traditional Albanian dishes along the route.

For many guests, the best memories come from small local places, friendly people and simple meals after a day of driving.
